SV Francesca

Beneteau Oceanis 461 | Off-Grid Living | Adventure & Advocacy

SV Francesca is a beautifully outfitted Beneteau Oceanis 461, purchased in 2021 by sailor and adventurer Larry Hall. A symbol of both freedom and purpose, Francesca has been transformed into more than just a sailing vessel—she is now a floating home and base for a life dedicated to sustainability, exploration, and advocacy.

Designed for off-grid living, Francesca has been meticulously equipped with eco-friendly systems to minimize her environmental footprint. From solar panels and wind turbines to advanced water purification systems, every aspect of the vessel has been tailored to support long-term, independent living while maintaining a deep respect for the planet. Larry has also added sustainable practices onboard to ensure that Francesca not only sails the seas but does so in harmony with nature.

As a passionate advocate for clean seas, climate awareness, and healthy living, Larry has embraced Francesca as a platform for spreading important messages about environmental stewardship and the preservation of our oceans. Whether he’s sailing to remote islands or hosting events with fellow travelers, the mission is clear: to bring people together, inspire change, and demonstrate the possibilities of living a greener, more conscious life.

Francesca is more than just a boat—she is a beacon for future generations, a space where new adventures unfold, and a rallying point for those who want to make a positive impact on the world. With Larry at the helm, Francesca continues to inspire those she encounters, whether at sea or in port, to embrace sustainable living and work towards a cleaner, healthier planet.

Cruise to Alaska
back along the coast of
British Columbia

May 2025 – September 2025

Planning a route with an objective of spending time on the coast of Alaska and British Columbia. Exact start date will be dependent upon weather patterns. We plan on leaving mid May 2025 and return mid September. If you’re ready to dive into a real sailing life, pitch in with a hardworking crew, and grow your skills while exploring some stunning waters, this might be your next adventure.
This isn;’t a luxury cruise, but about building memories and learning from each other. It is not necessary to be in the SF Bay Area, but be prepared to come about a week early.

Crew will be involved in the planning. Currently planning to follow around the Pacific high to Kodiak Island 3-4 weeks.  We will then casually sail the Alaska coast toward Sitka and Ketchikan, make entry into Canada in Pt Rupert then sail along the Great Bear Rain Forest toward Victoria BC.

From Victoria it will be about a 5 day sail back to San Francisco.

Currently looking for 3 men and women to join me on the voyage. Priority to folks who can so the entire voyage.
